Fneezet aims to publish entertainment and lifestyle journalism that is clear, engaging and responsible. This policy describes the standards we seek to apply to our editorial work.
Accuracy and verification
We aim to take reasonable steps to check significant factual claims before publication. Sources may include direct reporting, official statements, public records, interviews, verified social-media accounts and established publications. Where a fact cannot be independently confirmed, wording should make clear when information is reported, alleged or otherwise uncertain.
Attribution and sourcing
When material information originates with another publication, person, organisation or public post, we aim to identify or link to the source where appropriate. Quotes should preserve their original meaning and should not be presented in a misleading context.
Headlines and presentation
Headlines and images are designed to communicate the subject of a story and attract reader interest, but they should not deliberately contradict the substance of the article. Featured images may be illustrative where this is clear from context.
Corrections and updates
When we identify a material factual error, we aim to correct it promptly. Developing stories may be updated as reliable new information becomes available. Minor spelling, grammar or formatting corrections may be made without an editorial note.
Opinion, rumour and social media
Commentary and opinion should be distinguishable from factual reporting. Social-media posts and online rumours can be newsworthy, but their existence does not automatically make their claims true; articles should provide appropriate context about what has and has not been confirmed.
Conflicts and commercial content
Advertising should not determine the factual conclusions of editorial coverage. Where content is sponsored or commercially arranged, it should be identified in a manner appropriate to the format and applicable requirements.
